When Shimmer finally gave in and created a facebook, she thought that would be the end of it. But nooooo, Cas had to constantly send her stupid little app and game requests, constantly “poke”ing her and posting pictures of cats on her wall and doing everything he could to make her phone ding, followed by her exasperated sigh that seemed to make him grin with glee.

Until she found Famville. When Cas introduced her to Farmville, Shimmer was skeptical at first. Then she was amused. And then she was addicted.

But when they took her Farmville away, she was less than pleased. She pouted and cajoled and tried everything to get them to unlock her Facebook account so she could just check on her corn just one more time

In the end, she resorted to blackmail, and vague, open-ended threats, but she got her way in the end…

He began to laugh with Jimmy, but his laugh was carefree. The laugh of someone who has no idea why they are laughing. He continued to laugh, throwing his head back and howling with laughter. He held his sides, and tears formed in his eyes. He stopped abruptly, when he saw Jimmy was upset. He had thought that he was laughing. Wasn’t he happy. He wondered if he was the reason Jimmy was suddenly sad. He figured he was. He was always screwing things up. Dean had always said, and Dean was right. He rocked a little in place, curling up as small as he could, hoping he could just be invisible.

He shrugged, and placed his hand on his cheek again. He liked the short stubble he felt against his palm. he wondered if he felt the same way. “How could you have known Jimmy? There was no way.” He said, reassuring him. The way his moods changed, scared the hell out of him, he could only imagine how poor Jimmy was feeling right now. “Well, we will just keep on looking everyday until we find her.” He nodded at the other man. “We will find her Jimmy, I just have to wait until me grace is strong enough, and then we can simply trace the bond we have.”

Seeing Cas laugh like that brought a small smile to Jimmy’s face as he sat there and watched in silence.  To say he missed being around Cas would have been an understatement.  When Cas’ demeanor changed from happy to sad, his smile faded as he moved closer to Cas cupping the other man’s face in his hands placing a gentle kiss upon his forehead.  ”It’ll be okay Cas.”

He nodded at Cas’ comment about not being able to know and shut his eyes leaning into Cas’ touch again.  Oh how he had missed it.  ”I know that Cas, but I still feel like I could have done more to find her.” he opened his eyes and faked the best smile he could at this point given the current state of his feelings.  By this point he was torn between curling up against Cas and never moving, or never sleeping again until Shimmer was found and home safe.

“You’re right, we’ll find her.  I know we will.”

It took her a minute to realize he’d spoken, Max had been assessing him by the general disheveled look he had to him, trying to figure out precisely what had happened to him. He looked almost as if he’d been through some sort of crazy night, and he didn’t really remember it.

That thought was proven when she analyzed what he’d said. The date? “Uh, yeah. It’s May 18th…  You look like you’ve been in for a rough time.” She commented offhandedly, giving him a sympathetic smile. He looked vaguely familiar, but all Max could pull from her mind was a repressed memory, one of pain and the faint feeling of being rescued, but that’s all she could remember.

She turned back to the violin case for a moment, snapping it shut, before standing and turning to face him fully.

Jimmy could only imagine what hell he looked like based purely on how she was looking at him.  If it was anything like the first time Castiel had bailed he couldn’t have looked good.  He glanced down at his clothes, his tie was backwards, his coat was a mess, and he could only imagine his hair was a sight to be seen as well.  Jimmy half expected her to call the cops and tell them some crazy mad man was trying to talk to her.

May 18th?  Jimmy had left in July… of last year.  Had it really almost been a year?  Had he been gone that long?  It had felt like only a day since he had said yes.  ”Uh yeah you could say that.” he said his brow furrowed as he tried to place her face.  Jimmy swore he had met her before, but he couldn’t place it.  Perhaps he had seen her before in passing?  He wasn’t about to ask.

“Thank you for the help.  Yeah it was a long night.”

Max rolled her shoulders back, as she lifted up the violin to her shoulder, resting her chin in the nook and gently pulling the bow across the strings, wincing as one of them made a slightly flat sound compared to the others. Tuning the string was a practiced movement, that she was surprised she hadn’t forgotten, and as she tested the strings once more, she settled on a simple melody to play.

Sitting on a bench in Central Park, she should have known she would’ve gathered a crowd, but she didn’t mind in the slightest. The song was a rather lengthy one of roughly six minutes, but playing the stringed instrument was relaxing, and for a moment, she nearly forgot they were all there. Only when she stopped and the applause started did she remember they existed, and she ducked her head with a faint smile and flush to her cheeks.

She set the violin back in its case and turned slightly, at the tap on her shoulder, looking up at the person behind her.

“Hey bub you can’t sleep here!  Wake up!” the voice called out as Jimmy came to with a groan and sat up rubbing his head.  Sleeping?  Jimmy wasn’t sleeping — or maybe he was.  To be honest Jimmy didn’t remember what he was even doing there, or where there was for that matter.  The last thing he did remember was being told he was needed for vessel duty again and then from that point up until now was a bit fuzzy.

He shook his slightly and looked up at the voice that spoke.  When he saw it was an officer his expression fell.  ”Uh yeah right sorry.” he said and stood from where he was laying and began to walk off, stumbling a bit before catching his balance and carrying on about his way.  As he walked Jimmy looked around and right off the bat could tell where he was.  New York.  Of all the places to end up he was in New York, and by the look not far from Central Park either.

He continued along his way until he found himself arriving at Central Park.  He wondered around before stopping to watch a young woman who was playing the violin.  Once she was fished he walked up to her and lightly tapped her on the shoulder.  ”Excuse me, you wouldn’t happen to have today’s date would you?  I seem to have forgotten it.” he asked once she turned around.  Which was a lie.  It wasn’t that he didn’t remember it — he didn’t know it.

The gang was on a hunt, it was supposed to be a simple salt ‘n burn but it turned out that they were dealing with a house full of ghost, not just one. They had all split up, going to graveyards of neighboring cities to find and burn the several bodies, hopefully getting them all and emptying out that ghost party

After burning up the last of the bodies on his list, Dean thought he’d reward himself with a drink or two. It was weird in all his years of traveling, he had never been to this small town, it seemed nice, quaint, but hopefully there would be a bar around somewhere. He walked into a decent size bar, not much people there for a week night.

Dean went to sit at the bar, giving the bartender a small smile when he asked what he would have. “Whatever’s on tap, thanks.” Dean turned so that he could see the rest of the bar. In a dark corner he saw a familiar figure, squinting, he could see that it was unmistakably Cas. He must have gotten done early, Dean thought as he grabbed his beer and walked over to the booth Cas was at. “Heya- so got done early, huh?” Dean took a seat beside him, leaning in to wrap his arm around his shoulders.

Jimmy had just gotten off the phone with his mother who had called to inform him that his father was in the hospital.  She also suggested Jimmy be the one to call and tell his brother.  Yeah like that would ever happen.  Jimmy never spoke of his brother, and with good reason — well good reason to him anyways.  Ever since he could remember Castiel was the golden child.  He always had his nose in a book, was always the teachers favorite, and then there was Jimmy.  He was never the teachers favorite, he never made good grades, and it seemed that no matter what he did his parents were always telling him how he needed to be more like this brother.

By this point Jimmy was almost done with his third beer, which he found a bit odd now that he thought of it, because he never remembered even drinking it — or even ordering a third beer.  Guess that only proved how deep in thought Jimmy was.  He didn’t even notice the other man walking over to his booth until he was sliding in next to him.  This startled Jimmy as he quickly scooted away from him — well as far as he could go with a wall on the other side of him.  ”Excuse me, but who are you?” he asked a but freaked out by this point.

He shook his head. “Dude, we are bad, bad people.” He said with a frown. Which was silly, because he was captured and couldn’t tell anyone, and he knew his past self wouldn’t have given Jimmy enough time to tell Shimmer, but he still felt like it was all his fault. “Yeah, I’m kind of a little shit to you about insisting on that is an as long as you live kinda duty.”

“I know you called Jimmy. I know Shimmer called too, they….they let me hear it.” He said with a shudder. “I heard every prayer, every call of my name, and they revled in the fact I couldn’t do anything about it.” He looked hurt, and cupped Jimmy’s cheek. “I will never tire, or give up on you. Either of you. I wanna try to find her.” He said quietly. He closed his eyes and cast out his grace searching for that familiar link that felt like home. It was gone. He frowned and tried again. Nothing. He shook his head. “Maybe….maybe I’m not strong enough yet.” He muttered. “We need to find her Jimmy….We have to…”

Why in the hell was Jimmy chuckling at Cas’ comment about them being bad people?  Sure it was a dry chuckle, but a chuckle nonetheless.  He knew it wasn’t funny; however, he felt it to be true — more so for him then Cas.  Cas didn’t really have a choice from what Jimmy gathered; however, Jimmy was more than capable of telling the other Cas no.  He didn’t really know how well that would have gone over if he had done that, but the fact Jimmy never thought to even say it, made him feel like Cas’ comment was all too true.

Jimmy had no idea they let Cas hear all the words spoken, and all the prayers said, although from what he heard about how things were currently being run upstairs it truly didn’t surprise him.  ”I’m sorry Cas.  I — I had no idea.” he frowned but couldn’t help but to lean into the all familiar feel of Cas’ hand when the cupped his cheek.  ”I want nothing more than to find her too.  I called every person I could think of when I got back, no one had any idea where she went.  No one knows where she is.”  he spoke and lightly placed his own hand over Cas’ and sighed.  ”I’m worried about her Cas… I’m really worried…”

She blinked up at him in surprise, frowning in confusing. “Wh—okay? That’s…” Padding over to sit beside him, she climbed up into the bed, crossing her legs up underneath her. “I just told you I pulled a Dementor on a guy and you’re just gonna…I mean, yeah I have questions, I wanna know where you went but I mean you’re just….okay?”

The words just seemed to kind of fall out of her mouth, tumbling over each other awkwardly as she tried to wrap her brain around everything. Fiddling with the hem of the shirt she’d borrowed, she let her brain mull over the events of the last few hours. “Where were you Jimmy?” Her voice was lower, quieter this time, turning to face him as she waited for his own explanation.

He watched as Shimmer made her way to the bed and scooted over to make sure she had enough room.  ”Yes Shim, just okay.  I mean what do you want me to say?  Don’t kill people?  You could have been caught?  Yes you shouldn’t kill people and yes could have been caught, but what’s done is done.  I could sit here and get mad and lecture you, but that would accomplish nothing.  The last thing I want is for this to turn into another one of our old fights that gets us nowhere.” he sighed and shut his eyes.

Opening his eyes again he avoided Shimmer’s gaze his eyes fixed on a spot on the floor.  He was quiet for a moment almost as if he was trying to find a way to weasel his way out of answering this, or just trying to find the right words.  ”Castiel came back — the other one.” his voice was monotone and quiet as he spoke.  ”He told me I was needed for vessel duty again.  I wanted to tell you, leave you a note, something, but before I could open my mouth to ask him, I was being dragged away to God knows where.  Seems this responsibility is a life long commitment.  Who knew huh?”

There, Jimmy had promised her the whole truth and that was it.  He didn’t want to go, hell it took everything in his power not to flat out tell Castiel no.   The only thing keeping him from doing so was Castiel didn’t come to Jimmy just for any reason.  If he showed up it usually meant something bad was going on and Jimmy didn’t want to risk something bad happening to Shimmer, or anyone else he cared for, all because he didn’t want to go.

“Why did you call me?  I mean, I’m glad you did, it’s just out of everyone you used to know, why was I the one you thought to call?  … Or was I just the only person who picked up?” he finally looked up from the floor to turn to face her.
